El Prado stands on the High Street at Laleston, west of Bridgend town centre, and is described as an evolution of the Martinez restaurants. It was opened in the early 1990s by the owner's late father with his business partner Jesus, who brought over the brasserie concept from La Brasserie on St Marys Street, Cardiff. Meats are cooked over oak charcoal and fish comes from a local fishmonger. Family run, lunch and dinner daily.
