Cuckmere Cycle Co. is an independent bike shop in a converted granary barn at Exceat, on the East Dean Road between Seaford and Eastbourne, overlooking the Cuckmere estuary. Richard Lambert, a former bike shop manager who has also worked in frame design for Enigma Bikes, opened the shop in 2022 and shows his own Windover-branded bikes in the showroom alongside stock from Cervelo and Marin. The shop sells new bikes and accessories, runs a repair and servicing workbench, and hires out bikes for riders wanting to explore the Cuckmere Valley and the Friston Forest trails that start at its door. Guided tours and group rides are also arranged from the shop, which has become a base for local cycling clubs organising rides in the area. Cuckmere Cycle Co. is open daily from 9am to 4pm, with reduced hours in poor winter weather.
