Farncombe Boat House operates from its own island site next to Catteshall Lock on the River Wey, off Catteshall Road at the edge of Godalming. The family running it has worked in boat hire on this stretch of the Wey since 1974 and has traded under the current business since 2000. Hourly hire covers traditional rowing boats, punts and canoes for trips up towards Guildford or down through the Godalming Navigations, alongside four narrowboats built for day trips and six holiday narrowboats available for longer breaks. Boats are returned by 5pm, and full-day hirers can borrow a lock key to work the locks themselves. Hectors on the Wey, a riverside bistro attached to the boathouse, serves coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea on a lawn overlooking the water. The site is reached by brown tourist signs off the A3100 and by footpath from Farncombe station, and continues to run as an independent, family-operated boatyard.
