Record Corner

Record Corner has traded under that name from a shop on Pound Lane since 1958, by the operator's own account, though the business changed hands again in October 2025 when Spontaneous Media Limited acquired the trading name from the previous operators. The shop stocks new and secondhand vinyl across pop, rock, indie, electronic, jazz, blues, reggae and soundtrack sections, alongside reissues, deluxe editions and pre-orders of current releases. Turntables and basic hi-fi accessories sit alongside the records, and staff buy in secondhand collections over the counter rather than by appointment only. Sunday opening runs later in the morning and earlier in the evening than the rest of the week. Crate-diggers can expect genuinely rare pressings mixed in among the everyday stock, in a shop that has outlasted most of the high-street chains that once sold records alongside it.
