Mark and Niki run Fourways Guesthouse from Town End in Thirsk, living on the premises so that someone is on hand for guests throughout the day. Ten rooms cover single, twin, double, triple, and family configurations, most with en-suite bathrooms, hospitality trays, and free Wi-Fi; some are on the ground floor for guests who cannot manage stairs. A full English breakfast is included, with vegetarian and other dietary versions available on request. The guesthouse sits two minutes' walk from Thirsk's market place and racecourse, in the town James Herriot made famous, and keeps off-street parking for a handful of cars. Golf courses lie within two miles, and the owners keep local walking routes on hand for guests who arrive without a plan.
