Highland FarmCafe

Kenneth McKenzie owns Highland Farm Cafe at Mountgerald, just outside Dingwall, an eco-built cafe and farm shop overlooking the Cromarty Firth, opened in 2018. The building runs on solar power and biodegradable takeaway packaging, and the site has electric car and e-bike charging points alongside a bike pump and water refill point for cyclists passing on nearby routes. The farm shop sells local meat, cheese, ice cream, wines and beers alongside the cafe's own cakes and home baking. During the 2020 lockdown, McKenzie began running a delivery shop from the cafe premises to keep supplying fresh food to the area. The cafe is dog-friendly outdoors and has a children's play area.
