Joli

Joli has traded from 158 High Street, Aldeburgh, since around 2003, when founder Vanessa Collen opened the shop in a converted Victorian cottage in the centre of town. The single-site business stocks Scandinavian womenswear, including pieces from the Australian label Elk and French brand Humility, alongside handmade English sunglasses and stationery sourced from Japan and Germany. It also produces its own line of Joli candles and diffusers, sold alongside a changing selection of gifts and homewares. Collen remains the shop's founder and managing director more than two decades after opening. The cottage retains its original proportions behind the shopfront, and the business has no other branches beyond the Aldeburgh premises.
