The Park family has farmed Sizergh Farm as tenants for forty years — the tenancy stated plainly, because this guide reads leases — and runs the shop, café and gallery from a seventeenth-century Westmorland stone barn beside the milking parlour: Alison Park fronts the retail, her brother Richard heads the farm, and his son Matthew makes it three generations at work. The shop carries more than eighty local suppliers and the farm's own raw milk by vending machine; the café watches the afternoon milking through glass; and the mental-health charity Growing Well raises organic salad on the land. The trade agreed in writing lately: Large Independent Retailer at the 2024 Speciality & Fine Food Fair awards, Tenant Farmer of the Year at the 2024 Cumbria Farmer awards.
