Four & Twenty occupies a former bank on King Street, near Penrith's market square, its red sandstone frontage giving little away from outside. Inside, high ceilings, filament bulbs and mismatched chairs set a plain backdrop for a seasonal British menu with occasional international turns, built around produce sourced from Cumbrian suppliers. The kitchen changes its fixed-price and à la carte lists through the year rather than running a static menu. It was previously linked to Mrs Miller's at Culgaith, a sister restaurant that closed along with the garden centre that housed it. Four & Twenty now trades on its own, seating diners for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and closing over Sunday and Monday.
