McKanna Meats is a traditional butcher's shop on Theobald's Road in Holborn, trading from the same premises for more than forty years. The shop is run day to day by Mark and Matt, between them holding several decades in the meat trade, and supplies both walk-in customers and a number of restaurants across central London. The counter carries British beef, lamb and pork alongside game in season, house-made sausages and a small range of charcuterie, with cuts butchered on site to order rather than pre-packed. Staff will bone, tie or mince to a customer's specification while they wait, a service increasingly rare on London high streets. A separate catering arm handles wholesale orders from a base in Bethnal Green, but the Theobald's Road shop remains the only retail counter, serving the terraced streets of Holborn and Bloomsbury around it.
