Painted Earth

Painted Earth trades from 98 Main Street in Newcastle, County Down, where a small team stocks jewellery, prints, ceramics, textiles and gifts made mostly by Irish makers. In April 2025 the shop opened a dedicated Art & Craft Gallery on an expanded second floor, giving wall space to work that previously had to compete with the till counter for attention. Alongside the retail side, Painted Earth runs creative workshops for visitors wanting to make rather than just buy. Packaging is recyclable and gift wrapping is offered free of charge, details that matter to a shop built around handmade goods rather than mass-produced stock.
