Proteus CreationSpace

Proteus Creation Space is a community arts centre on Council Road in central Basingstoke and the home of Proteus, a national touring theatre company. It is run by the registered charity Proteus Theatre Company Limited, charity number 291718. The building holds a light-filled gallery, a mirrored studio suitable for aerial and dance work, two art studios and a boardroom, and hosts classes, workshops, exhibitions, rehearsals and performances. As a working creative space rather than a static museum, it stages events and gives room to local artists and community groups alongside the company's own productions, which tour theatres and festivals across the country. Spaces are available to hire for makers and groups. It operates from this single Basingstoke venue as an independent producing organisation, distinct from the town's larger council and commercially programmed halls.
