Pulteney Cruisers is the longest-established boat trip operator in Bath, running one-hour round trips up the River Avon from Pulteney Weir for more than fifty years. Two twin-decked boats, each carrying up to seventy passengers, operate seven days a week through the spring, summer and autumn seasons, with a sundeck or heated cabin and an onboard cafe. The outward leg runs quietly upriver toward the Bathampton valley, watching for swans, herons and kingfishers, before a return journey with live commentary on the history of the Avon valley. The company operates from the single weir-side landing rather than a fleet of outlets across the city, and larger groups of ten or more can charter a boat privately.
