Adam and Lucy Riley started with a fish stall on a bicycle at the 2012 Tynemouth Food Festival and ended up with the most photographed kitchen in the north east: two converted shipping containers dug into the sand of King Edward's Bay, cooking day-boat fish over fire for a clientele in deckchairs and borrowed blankets, priory ruins above and the North Sea supplying both the menu and the weather. Jay Rayner called it the eating experience of the year in 2016 and the queue has treated that as a standing instruction since; a second room up in Tynemouth village, opened in 2021, is disclosed as the operation's indoor annex. Bring layers; the kitchen does the warmth.
