Andy and Liz Bradbury are industrial chemists by trade — the distillery began after Liz gave Andy a small still for Christmas — and they run Rosemullion from their property at Mawnan Smith, near the Helford River. Unusually for a distillery this size, they ferment their own base spirits from grain, molasses and barley rather than buying in neutral spirit, and the range runs from four gins — the Seafarer's takes seaweed from Falmouth Bay — through rums to a small-batch single malt. The rums have done the shouting lately: gold at the World Rum Awards in 2023 for the Gold and again in 2024 for the Navy, with a silver for the whisky at the 2024 World Whiskies Awards. Sales run through the online shop and stockists; visits are not a formal offer, so ring before travelling.
