Tessa Eastman runs a ceramics studio inside Cockpit Arts' Holborn building on Northington Street, one of a community of designer-makers renting workspace there under the charity's studio scheme. She holds a ceramics MA from the Royal College of Art and teaches hand-building and throwing through private one-to-one and small-group lessons rather than fixed open classes, with sessions priced to include materials and kiln firing. A further strand of teaching covers glaze chemistry, aimed at makers troubleshooting recurring problems rather than beginners starting from scratch. Students book directly through her website rather than through a course calendar, and lesson length and content are set individually per person. The studio also runs a kiln-firing service for other makers who need work fired without a wheel of their own, a practical sideline alongside her sculptural ceramics.
