The Bookmark

The Bookmark occupies a small shopfront on Grantown-on-Spey's High Street, where Marjory Marshall has owned and run the shop since 2007. It sells new books only, with a stock built around current fiction, crime and thrillers alongside a children's section that takes up a good part of the floor. Marshall gives particular shelf space to Scottish authors and to books on the history of Grantown-on-Spey and the surrounding Cairngorms, plus walking guides suited to visitors heading into the national park. The shop is small enough that Marshall knows most of her regular customers by name and orders in specific titles on request through the Hive network. It positions itself as a resource for the town rather than purely a tourist stop. Located at 34 High Street, PH26 3EH.
