The King's Head is a 19th-century stone-built free house on Maiden Lane, run as a family business. A wood-burning stove and beamed ceiling furnish the bar, with a covered rear garden for outdoor drinking. The pub keeps a rotating one-barrel cask policy, refreshing four changing ales sourced nationally alongside eight craft keg taps and a regular house beer, Bakers Dozen - Sinc Stream. CAMRA named it Branch Town Pub of the Year in 2022. Doors open Wednesday to Saturday from noon until 10 or 11pm, and Sunday from noon to 8pm; the pub is closed Monday and Tuesday.
