The Old Tramway is a freehouse pub on Shipston Road in Stratford-upon-Avon, in a building dating to 1856 and named for the horse-drawn tramway that once ran along the route into town. The pub reopened under new operators, Emily and Eddie, in April 2023 following refurbishment, and trades as an independent free house rather than a brewery-tied tenancy. The kitchen serves a combined menu of Indian street food, including lamb saag and chicken bhuna, alongside British pub classics and a Sunday roast. Drinks include cask ales, real ciders and wines sourced from independent producers rather than a national distributor list. The pub has a beer garden, open fires in winter, and is dog-friendly throughout, sitting a five-minute walk from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre on the opposite bank of the river. Food service runs from 12pm daily; the bar opens from 11:30am.
