The Shepherd's Inn is a free house in the Eden Valley village of Melmerby, in a sandstone building dated 1789 on its door lintel and Grade II listed. Closed for a period, it reopened in 2017 under local ownership with long-standing family ties to the village. It serves scratch-cooked pub food, including burgers, mussels and a Thai curry, alongside rotating real ales and a small wine list, and appears in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.
