The Snug Bookshopand Cafe

Sam, a former public and school librarian, opened the Snug Bookshop on Brookland Road in Huish Episcopi, on the edge of Langport, in December 2018. The shop stocks new books across fiction, non-fiction and children's titles, and operates as a National Book Tokens retailer alongside a small cafe serving drinks and cake to browsing customers. It hosts regular author events and a book club, takes special orders, and posts books out to customers further afield. The shop also runs a Fill a Bookshelf scheme, using customer contributions to supply books to local primary schools. Shelves are arranged by genre, with seating for cafe customers set among the stock rather than in a separate dining room. It opens Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
