Surveyed
Barrington Pottery was set up in 2008 by Paul Jessop, a self-taught potter who has thrown clay since he was twelve, after he was made redundant; his wife Marion joined the workshop full time in 2012. The pair make slipware from red terracotta clay using glazes they mix themselves, working from a studio in outbuildings at Barrington Court, and sell functional, everyday pottery alongside pottery lessons and experience days. The business is independently run and separate from the National Trust property whose grounds it occupies.
