Saddle Goose occupies a unit on Station Approach in Frome, on a small industrial estate by the train station. Adam Collins, previously an art director in London, retrained at Plumpton College and studied winemaking in France and Portugal before setting up the winery, releasing his first vintage in 2020. He makes English wine and two vermouths using minimal intervention methods, alongside a cider called Old Goosey, an old-school scrumpy with a smoky finish made from apples sourced from North Down Orchard in Crewkerne. The cellar door opens Friday and Saturday for walk-in tastings, flights and bottles to take away, with other days by appointment.
