SK 0574 0077Aldridge · Birmingham & the West MidlandsSurveyed

The Turtles Head occupies a former hairdresser's unit on Aldridge's Croft Parade, a 1960s shopping precinct in the centre of the town. Opened in 2015, it follows the compact micropub format that spread from Kent in the early 2010s: a single room with bench seating and a serving counter rather than a conventional bar, no lager taps, no fruit machines and no music. Three real ales rotate constantly, drawn mainly from small breweries across the Midlands, alongside a changing cider list. Food is limited to bar snacks such as cobs, pork pies and scratchings, though customers may bring in their own to eat while drinking. Walsall CAMRA lists it among the branch's regular real ale venues. Closed Mondays except bank holidays; open from midday the rest of the week. Dogs and children are welcome earlier in the day.
