Abbotts Meats

Abbotts Meats has traded from 211 Lisburn Road since the early 1940s, on a site that has held a butcher's shop since the early 1900s. The Abbotts family raises its own beef, supplying the shop with traceable joints, steaks and mince from the family farm, alongside locally reared pork, lamb and poultry. The counter turns out its own sausages, burgers and barbecue packs made on the premises. Judges at the European Angus Awards placed the shop's sirloin and fillet steak among the runners-up and rated its burger the best in Northern Ireland. Belfast City Council awarded the shop a five-star food hygiene rating in June 2025. The business remains a single shop on the Lisburn Road, still run by the Abbotts family who have kept it there since the early 1940s.
