Archetype Coffee

Aaron Murley runs this single-room coffee bar just off Great Portland Street on Riding House Street. Archetype Coffee Ltd, the company behind it, was registered in September 2019 and has not opened a second site. The counter pours espresso from rotating single-origin lots to order, with a short pastry list rather than a full kitchen menu. Weekday service begins at eight for the office trade nearby; on Saturdays and Sundays the doors open two hours later, at ten, and the pace is slower. Fitted with plain timber counters and a handful of stools, the room favours people collecting a drink over those settling in to work. Murley is usually behind the machine himself, and the tight footprint keeps the offer narrow rather than broad.
