Juan Famenias Floris and his wife Elizabeth opened a perfumery and barber's shop at 89 Jermyn Street in 1730, and the Bodenham family, descended from the Florises by marriage, has run it since 1878. Edward and Emily Bodenham, the ninth generation, now oversee the business. The Spanish mahogany display cabinets and the perfume counter both came from the Great Exhibition of 1851 and remain in place after a 2016 refurbishment that left the original glasswork untouched. A small museum at the back of the shop holds archive material from across the company's history, and fragrances are still mixed behind a door at the rear of the building. The Grade II listed shop has held royal warrants in the past for its scent-making.
