Brighton Toy and Model Museum occupies four Victorian railway arches beneath the forecourt of Brighton Station, arches that once stored beer barrels for the Bass Brewery. Christopher Littledale founded the museum in 1991 to preserve British and European toymaking up to the mid-twentieth century, and it now holds more than 10,000 items across 4,000 square feet, including Hornby trains, Dinky die-casts, Meccano sets and Corgi models. A 1930s gauge 0 layout runs alongside two modern 00-gauge model railways. The museum, a registered charity, maintains the Brighton Toy and Model Index, an online reference running to nearly 10,000 pages, and became Brighton Station's first community rail partner in 2013. It has featured on BBC's Bargain Hunt and Timeshift.
