Cha-ty

Cha-ty is a small Japanese café on Newton Road in Mumbles, run single-handedly by Mari Okumura. The menu covers hand-drip filtered coffee and a range of Japanese teas, alongside a changing lunch menu that has included salmon and avocado donburi with miso soup, Hayashi rice, and a mild vegetable curry, with sushi plates on selected days. Cakes and desserts are made on the premises daily. The café is small, seating is limited, and the pace reflects its one-person operation rather than a commercial kitchen. It closes on Mondays and Tuesdays, opening Wednesday to Saturday from 9am and Sunday from 10am, all until 4.30pm. Cha-ty has built a loyal following through word of mouth and consistently strong ratings on review platforms, rather than through advertising or a dedicated website.
