Ciullósteria sits on Balham High Road under chef Giuseppe Calcagno, whose family had worked in Italian restaurants for more than two decades before opening this one. The kitchen makes pasta by hand and turns out twelve-inch pizzas alongside seafood and steak, following recipes the Calcagnos describe as coming from a family kitchen table in southern Italy. The wine list runs past fifty labels, chosen to match the cooking rather than to fill a page. A weekday happy hour runs from 4pm to 7pm, and the dining room can be booked privately for parties of up to fifty guests. It sits a five-minute walk from Balham station.
