Minnow opened on The Pavement in Clapham in July 2017, founded by Chris Frichot and Saba Tsegaye, with Jake Boyce, previously head chef at Jason Atherton's Social Wine and Tapas, leading the kitchen. The all-day restaurant serves seasonal British dishes with occasional international touches, and a walled garden at the rear gives diners an outdoor option overlooking Clapham Common. Inside, a vaulted booth in the former wine cellar is lit by a stained glass light box, giving the room a distinct focal point separate from the main dining area. The name reflects the founders' description of themselves as a small but fiercely independent fish in a big pond. Sunday lunch is served as a set menu, and a weekly corkage-free evening lets guests bring their own wine without a markup.
