The counter sells beef, lamb and pork sourced from farms within the local area, alongside sausages, pies and pasties made on the premises. Staff advise on cuts and joint sizes for Sunday roasts, and the shop takes orders for whole and half lambs and pigs from named local farms in season. A meat-box scheme lets customers order mixed selections for collection or local delivery. The business has stayed in independent hands throughout its history without expanding beyond the single High Street premises, and continues to trade six days a week serving households across Mid Devon. Traceability is treated as a routine part of the service, with provenance available on request at the counter.
