Elgano Guest House occupies a Victorian townhouse at 58 Cathedral Road in Pontcanna, where husband-and-wife team Simona and Carlo, who grew up in Sicily and Calabria, run eleven en-suite rooms above their ground-floor Italian restaurant. The building has traded under the Elgano name since the early 2000s, previously as Elgano Hotel and Catering and then Elgano Hotel, before being rebranded Elgano Guest House. Downstairs, chef Pietro cooks Southern Italian dishes rooted in Sicilian and Calabrian traditions, alongside a wine list chosen to match, while upstairs rooms come with flat-screen televisions, tea and coffee-making facilities and power showers. The guest house and restaurant operate as one business from this single Cathedral Road address, rather than as part of any hotel group.
