Andrew runs Church Guest House from a converted Victorian townhouse on Cathedral Road in Pontcanna, one of two properties the same owners operate on this stretch alongside the neighbouring Church Town House. Thirteen individually decorated rooms are let, most en suite, with continental breakfast included and no restaurant or bar to speak of beyond the breakfast room. It's a plain, well-kept guest house rather than a boutique hotel, priced and run accordingly, and reviewers repeatedly single out Andrew personally for booking taxis, carrying bags and giving directions rather than leaving guests to a reception desk. The house sits within walking distance of Sophia Gardens, the Principality Stadium and Cardiff Castle, all closer than the city centre hotels charging considerably more for the same walk. It remains independently run rather than part of any hotel group.
