Flax Coffee occupies a converted terraced house on the Falls Road, opposite Belfast City Cemetery, where owner Holly Martin first served coffee through a window hatch before taking over the whole ground floor. She opened in October 2020 and closed for three years after the birth of her son, reopening in 2025 to the same regulars. The room seats twenty around mismatched furniture and serves specialty coffee alongside toasties, sausage rolls and daily bakes, with brownies and muffins made on site and babka and financiers supplied by a local baker. Martin credits the neighbourhood itself for what keeps people coming back, describing west Belfast customers as unlike any she has served elsewhere. The café sits within walking distance of Falls Park and the Bog Meadows nature reserve.
