Mavis and Terry Dunlop have run the bed and breakfast at Fortwilliam for more than twenty-five years, on a working farm of some seventy acres, 3.5 miles from Hillsborough village on the Ballynahinch Road. The farmhouse itself dates back over three hundred years, and its four bedrooms keep the antique furniture and period feel, including a Victorian room with rose wallpaper and a mahogany wardrobe overlooking the garden. Breakfast is cooked on an Aga in the farmhouse kitchen, using eggs collected from hens in the yard and home-baked wheaten bread, served as part of a traditional Ulster breakfast. Guests stay within the working farm rather than a purpose-built guesthouse, with baskets of provisions still kept hanging from the kitchen beams. Fortwilliam sits at 210 Ballynahinch Road, Hillsborough, run directly by the Dunlops.
