Arthur's ofHillsborough

Arthur's occupies a Georgian building on Main Street in Royal Hillsborough, opened as a boutique guest house on 26 January 2023 by husband and wife Lynne and Jonathan McCabe, who bought the property in 2018 and spent five years restoring it. The 13 rooms, including a Residence Suite, are each themed around a figure or episode from local history, a nod to the Hill family, Marquesses of Downshire, several of whom were named Arthur. A ground-floor coffee house serves guests and passing trade through the day. The McCabes also run Ralph's and Lisnacurran Country House nearby, but Arthur's trades under its own name, address and booking site, distinct from its sister properties. Since opening it has featured in the Irish News, Hospitality Ireland and Ulster Tatler as one of the newer additions to Hillsborough's overnight accommodation, in a village more used to day-trip visitors than places to stay.
