Gower Gallery grew out of Mumbles Fine Art, a gallery the artist Ron Banning ran on Mumbles Road for two decades before his daughter Arwen took over, extended the premises and renamed it. The walls carry Ron's coastal landscapes alongside work by Arwen and a rotating group of Welsh painters and ceramicists, with limited-edition Giclee prints sold beside originals for buyers on a smaller budget. A framing workshop operates from the back of the shop, taking on everything from watercolours to sports shirts and cross-stitch. The gallery favours pieces depicting Gower's cliffs and beaches, a natural fit for a shop a short walk from the seafront. It opens seven days a week, unusual for a gallery of this size, and the stock leans toward gifts and homeware as much as fine art.
