Powys council's most recent food hygiene inspection, carried out in April 2025, rated the shop's hygienic handling as very good and its structural condition and management systems as good. The business relies on passing trade and regulars from the surrounding streets rather than a website, with orders taken over the counter or by phone. It is a plain, working butcher's shop that serves Newtown's daily needs rather than passing visitors.
