Lancaster Pottery Studio operates from a small ground-floor space on Moor Lane, trading under L.R. Obermeyer and built around hands-on teaching rather than gallery display. The core offer is a six-week beginners wheel course held on Tuesday afternoons, where students learn to centre clay, throw cylinders, attach handles for mugs and jugs, trim footrings and apply glaze before the final firing. Those who finish often continue onto a second six-week block to refine technique rather than start something new. Alongside the taught course, the studio runs drop-in sessions on Monday and Tuesday evenings for people who already know their way around a wheel and want table time without a class structure. Everything is made and fired on site, and places are capped so the wheels never feel crowded. Booking runs in termly blocks rather than rolling enrolment.
