First AgeComics

First Age Comics began trading in 2006 as a stall in Lancaster's Assembly Rooms on King Street, run by Lucy and Mark Braithwaite, before moving into its current shop at 3 Moor Lane in 2014. The single-site store stocks new-release comics and graphic novels alongside back issues, trading cards and related merchandise, serving Lancaster's independent comic-reading community from a compact high-street unit. When browsing in person was not always possible, the shop turned to live-streamed video sales to keep customers buying and selling, a habit that has stayed part of how it trades. Past its tenth anniversary in its current premises, it remains one of the few dedicated comic shops serving Lancashire outside the city's chain booksellers.
