Alison and John Grieve opened Lochleven Seafood Cafe at Onich, on the shore of Loch Leven near Ballachulish and Glencoe, in 2005, registering the business as Lochleven Seafood Centre Limited. The restaurant sits beside the family's own shellfish dispatch centre, where lobster, langoustine, crab, mussels, clams, scallops and oysters caught by their boats are held in tanks fed by pumped loch water until served. A deli and gift shop trades alongside the dining room, and a terrace looks across the water to the Pap of Glencoe. The kitchen also serves local meat and vegetarian dishes for visitors who prefer not to eat shellfish. The cafe currently trades on a seasonal basis, open Thursday to Monday.
