Maison occupies the ground floor of a 15th-century red-brick house in Wrecclesham, on the edge of Farnham, where chef Ben Piette and his wife Lornette Piette-Valentine live upstairs and run the restaurant below. It opened in March 2022 and works without a printed menu: Piette, French and classically trained, cooks a changing tasting menu of around seven courses each day, decided that morning by what is in season. Seating is limited to a handful of tables, including 'Ben's Table' in front of the open kitchen for guests who want to watch the cooking directly. The food has a French base built on British seasonal produce, and the kitchen accommodates dietary requirements despite the fixed format. Maison appears in the Michelin Guide, which describes the atmosphere as close to a dinner party, with Lornette hosting front of house. It remains a two-person operation run from the couple's own home rather than a conventional restaurant premises with a larger kitchen brigade.
