Martin McCrossan City Tours has run walking tours of Derry's walls from 11 Carlisle Road since the early 1990s, when founder Martin McCrossan judged that visitors would eventually come to hear the city's history once the Troubles ended. Tours depart at 10am, noon, 2pm and 4pm year-round with no need to book ahead, covering the city from its sixth-century Christian origins through the building of the walls to Bloody Sunday and the present day. McCrossan died in 2015, and the business is now led by his daughter Charlene, who became a Blue Badge tourist guide in 2018 and is the youngest to hold the qualification in the country. It has held a Tourism NI five-star grading since 2014. The company operates from the one Carlisle Road office rather than as a franchise across multiple cities.
