Niche Comics & Bookshop trades from a timber-framed building on Huntingdon's High Street dating to 1573, one of the town's oldest surviving shopfronts. Brothers Guy and Adam opened the shop in 2011, building a stock that runs from new fiction and graphic novels to comics, manga, tabletop games, dice and art supplies, with a dedicated room for children's books upstairs. The shop was named Independent Bookshop of the Year at the British Book Awards in 2019, recognition for a business that also runs more than forty community events annually, from author visits to acoustic music nights, and works with local schools on reading initiatives. It remains family run, with the brothers' mother organising much of the events programme. It is one of relatively few dedicated bookshops left in Huntingdonshire operating from a single, independently owned site rather than as part of a chain.
