The Snug

Brothers Matthew and Sam Kelly opened The Snug in a converted shop unit on Free Church Passage in St Ives in 2023, having already built a following through The Filling Station, their independent beer and cider shop nearby. The Snug pours five changing draught beers from independent UK breweries alongside wine, soft drinks and a list of cocktails, and is counted among the smallest pubs in the country. A covered outdoor courtyard was later added for seating, and the pub is dog-friendly. Matthew Kelly has said customers told him it was a relief to see a genuinely independent pub open in the town. Opening hours run Tuesday and Wednesday from 5pm to 10pm, Thursday and Sunday from midday to 10pm, and Friday and Saturday from midday to 11pm, with Mondays closed.
