Palfrey & Co occupies the former post office on Debenham's high street, run by Shaun Palfrey and Deaglan Hall, who formed their butchery partnership in 2013 after a combined quarter-century in the trade, and opened this retail shop in November 2017. The counter sells dry-aged beef, free-range pork, and lamb, chicken, venison and game sourced from hand-picked local farms, alongside a deli selection of hams, charcuterie, pies, pastries and cheeses. Meat is dry-aged in a purpose-built cabinet using Himalayan salt blocks to control humidity and temperature. The bacon is cured using ale from the Earl Soham Brewery, a recipe that has twice received two gold stars at the Great Taste Awards. The shop is open Tuesday to Friday, 7.30am to 5pm, and Saturday, 7.30am to 1pm.
