Jen and Chris Pelgrave opened their restaurant on Station Street in Long Eaton in January 2017, setting out to run a neighbourhood dining room rather than chase a wider audience. The kitchen splits its menu between English seasonal dishes, built around whatever produce is at its best, and Neapolitan-style pizzas cooked to a traditional dough recipe with a long, slow ferment. The dining room keeps a relaxed feel with occasional quirks in its decor, and offers a short cocktail and mocktail list alongside bottled beers, ciders and wines chosen to match the food. On Wednesdays the couple also run a stall at Beeston Market, serving a shorter daytime menu to a different crowd. Dinner service runs Thursday to Saturday, 6pm to 8pm, with the restaurant closed Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.
