Dr George Cathcart, a brewer and chemist, set up Sheelin Brewery in the village of Bellanaleck in 2013, using traditional methods to produce small-batch Irish ale. The brewery makes Sheelin Blonde, a pale, hop-forward beer, along with other bottled styles including vegan and gluten-free options across a wide strength range. Production is sold mainly in bottles rather than on draught, and Cathcart runs no public taproom or shop at the site; anyone wanting to buy direct arranges collection or delivery by phone or email rather than calling in unannounced. The brewery supplies bottled beer to pubs and off-licences across County Fermanagh, including several free houses in the Lakelands area. Sheelin remains a one-site operation on the Derrylin Road, with no other brewing premises elsewhere in Northern Ireland.
