Silver Circle Distillery makes gin, vodka and other spirits at Upper Meend Farm in Penallt, a working livestock farm outside Monmouth also known as Humble by Nature, run by Kate Humble and Ludo Graham. The distillery was founded in 2019 and moved production to the farm in 2024, building a visitor space that puts the still, bottling line and gin school in the same open-plan room as the shop and bar. Wye Valley Gin, the distillery's signature product, won a star at the Great Taste Awards in 2021, and the range has grown to include Silver Circle Aquavit, Black Garlic Vodka, a canned Bloody Mary and seasonal releases such as a damson negroni. Botanicals are foraged locally where possible, and the distillery runs a zero-plastic packaging and refill scheme for regular customers. Visitors can watch distilling, bottling and labelling in progress, book a gin-making session, or call in for a drink at the bar, all on the same working farm site near Monmouth.
